Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026
1. Platform Overview
GOROGOO is an e-commerce marketplace published and operated by HOGOIN SARL, a limited liability company under Beninese law, with its registered office in Awakè, Godomey, Abomey-Calavi, Republic of Benin (RCCM RB/ABC/26 B 11921, IFU 3202617408637). The platform connects buyers and sellers, primarily in West Africa and internationally. By accessing gorogoo.com and creating an account, you fully accept these Terms of Use (ToU), in accordance with Law No. 2017-20 of 20 April 2018 establishing the Digital Code in the Republic of Benin.
2. Registration and User Account
Registration is open to any adult natural person or legally constituted legal entity. You are solely responsible for the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity carried out from your account. In case of suspected fraudulent use, you must notify GOROGOO immediately at security@gorogoo.com. GOROGOO reserves the right to suspend or close any account in the event of a breach of these ToU, without notice or compensation.
3. Seller Obligations
Sellers undertake to: offer products that match their description and are free of any hidden defects, ship within the announced timeframes, hold the legal rights to sell the products offered, comply with tax obligations in their country of residence (in particular the 18% VAT for Beninese sellers), and handle returns and disputes in good faith. Failure to comply with these obligations may result in the suspension of the account and the withholding of pending funds.
4. Buyer Obligations
Buyers undertake to provide accurate information when ordering, to honor validated payments, and to report any dispute via the platform within 15 days of the estimated delivery. Any abuse of buyer protection (false disputes, unjustified chargebacks) may result in the suspension of the account.
5. Payments, Commission, and Wallet
Payments are processed via secure providers: Stripe (international cards), Wave, MTN Mobile Money, Orange Money, CinetPay, Flutterwave, Paystack, FedaPay, and PayPal. GOROGOO does not store any banking data. A fixed commission of 5% is charged on the product amount excluding delivery fees for each sale. Funds are secured via the escrow mechanism and paid into the seller's wallet after delivery confirmation by the buyer. The wallet is denominated in USD. Withdrawals are available from a $5 minimum via Mobile Money (Africa), SEPA (Europe), SWIFT, or PayPal (international), with a timeframe ranging from 7-14 days (new seller) to instant (Elite Seller). A 1% withdrawal fee applies.
5b. Artificial Intelligence
GOROGOO integrates artificial intelligence features to help sellers: automatic generation of product descriptions, price suggestions, multilingual translation (French, English, Arabic, Portuguese, Swahili, Hausa, Yoruba, Wolof, Amharic), sales forecasts, fraud detection, and economic analysis. These features are powered by Anthropic's Claude model. The data entered (product name, category, statistics) is transmitted to Anthropic for processing and is not retained for training purposes under the terms of Anthropic's enterprise agreement. The use of AI is subject to our acceptable use policy: it is prohibited to generate misleading, defamatory, or unlawful content.
5c. Developer API
GOROGOO provides a REST API allowing developers to integrate the platform's features into their applications. Access to the API requires the creation of API keys from the developer area. Each key is tied to a seller account and cannot be shared. GOROGOO reserves the right to revoke a key in case of misuse, attempted unauthorized access, or breach of the terms of use. Webhooks allow you to receive real-time notifications about platform events (orders, payments, deliveries). The webhook secret key must be kept confidential and used to verify the authenticity of received notifications.
5d. Institutional Accounts (GOROGOO ORGANISATIONS™)
GOROGOO offers dedicated spaces for organizations (companies, financial institutions, NGOs, government agencies, healthcare and education establishments, media, etc.). Each organization receives a unique GOROGOO ENTITY ID™ and must provide accurate legal information (RCCM, IFU, SIREN/SIRET, EIN, or equivalents depending on the country) via the GOROGOO COMPLIANCE CENTER™. Verification (KYB — Know Your Business) is carried out by our teams; the "Verified" badge is granted only after document review. The owner of a space can invite administrators and members with distinct roles (finance, HR, procurement, etc.); they remain responsible for the actions carried out by these members. Any false declaration or institutional identity theft results in the immediate suspension of the space.
5e. GOROGOO EMPLOIS™ — Job Postings
Organizations and sellers may post job offers (permanent, fixed-term, internship, apprenticeship, freelance). The employer guarantees the truthfulness of the offer, compliance with applicable labor law, and the absence of any discrimination based on origin, sex, religion, disability, or any other prohibited criterion. It is prohibited to request payment from the candidate, to post false offers, or to collect personal data for purposes unrelated to recruitment. Applications submitted are intended solely for the issuing employer.
5f. GOROGOO APPELS D'OFFRES™
Verified organizations may post calls for tenders and receive bids. The issuer undertakes to describe the contract faithfully, to process bids fairly, and to comply with the announced deadline. Bidders undertake to provide sincere offers. Any fraudulent collusion, corruption, or manipulation of the process is strictly prohibited and may be reported to the HOGOIN regulatory body.
5g. B2B Marketplace & Lifestyle Listings
The B2B Marketplace is reserved for verified organizations that post offers and requests between professionals. GOROGOO LIFESTYLE™ listings (real estate, tourism, dining, events, entertainment) must honestly describe the property or service, its price, and its availability. It is prohibited to post misleading listings, goods you do not have the right to dispose of, or to divert a transaction off the platform to circumvent protections.
5h. Advertising, Taxation, and Billing
Advertising campaigns (sponsored products, featured shop, listings) are subject to validation and must comply with our rules (no misleading content, prohibited products, or poor-quality visuals). The GOROGOO TAX ENGINE™ calculates an indirect tax amount (VAT, GST, Sales Tax) for guidance based on the country; these rates do not replace the advice of an accountant and do not engage GOROGOO's liability regarding your tax obligations. Institutional subscription invoices are issued accordingly; payment by bank transfer follows the details indicated on the invoice.
5i. Testimonials and Regulation (HOGOIN)
Published testimonials are genuine and moderated before publication; any false or purchased testimonial is prohibited. HOGOIN is the governance and regulatory body for the organizations of the ecosystem: it investigates reports (fraud, non-compliance, breach of contract) between verified organizations and may impose graduated measures (warning, reduced visibility, suspension, removal of the verification badge, restriction or closure of the space). Any abusive or false report may result in sanctions against its author.
6. Prohibited Products and Content
It is strictly prohibited to offer or list for sale on GOROGOO: counterfeit products or products infringing intellectual property rights, products whose sale is illegal in the Republic of Benin or in the destination country, dangerous products that do not comply with applicable standards, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or contrary to public order. GOROGOO reserves the right to remove any non-compliant content and to report violations to the competent authorities.
7. Intellectual Property
Content published by users (photos, descriptions, reviews) must be original or freely usable. By publishing content, the user grants GOROGOO a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display this content as part of operating the platform. GOROGOO's trademarks, logos, and editorial content are protected and may not be reproduced without prior written authorization.
8. GOROGOO's Liability
GOROGOO acts as an e-commerce intermediary and is not a party to the sales contracts concluded between sellers and buyers. GOROGOO cannot be held liable for the quality of products sold by third parties, for delivery delays attributable to carriers, or for indirect damages resulting from the use of the platform. Our liability is in any case limited to the amount of the service fees collected on the relevant transaction.
9. Availability and Maintenance
GOROGOO strives to ensure the availability of the platform 24/7. Interruptions may occur for maintenance, updates, or technical incidents. GOROGOO is not responsible for service interruptions due to external factors (network outages, force majeure). Scheduled maintenance is announced with 24 hours' notice.
10. Amendment of the ToU and Termination
GOROGOO reserves the right to amend these ToU at any time. Registered users will be notified by email 15 days before any substantial change. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Any user may terminate their account at any time from the settings of their personal area.
11. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These ToU are governed by the law of the Republic of Benin, in particular Law No. 2017-20 of 20 April 2018 establishing the Digital Code, and by the applicable OHADA Uniform Acts. Any dispute will be submitted, failing an amicable settlement, to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Cotonou. The parties may also resort to mediation via the OHADA Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA).
